The DRJ Team recently wrapped up the 2010 racing season at the Carolina Clash event in Fayetteville, NC on November 13. God provided the team with another successful racing season as we traveled to NC/SC race tracks. One of the successes was the recent addition of Rev. Jason Williams (a.k.a. The Rolling Pastor) joining the team and racing in the Super Street Division. I'll let everyone as Brothere Jason how he earned that nickname. I would like to thank Brother Richard Wilkins and his wife, Jennifere Wilkins for stepping up and taking on additioanl DRJ responsiblies after my ordination into the ministry. Also many thanks to several volunteers from various churches who helped spread the word at the race tracks.

We were fortunate to have our Director of Missions, Rev. Bruce Cannon attend a racing event in Dublin, NC this season. I can honestly say that we have a Director that don't mind getting "dirty" but we could not convince him to crawl into a 875 hoursepower race car. The DRJ team also had the pleasure of seeing Rev Rigney from Butter's Baptist, Rev Cameron McGill from Dublin First Baptist, and Rev. Thomas Whray from Hickory Grove Baptist at the Dublin Motor Speedway.

We server an AWESOME God who continues to open many doors for the DRJ Team. Recently, we have completed the work on JOHN 3:16 (1973 Mustang Fastback) and are in the process of having the car designed for the decals/lettering.

We were contacted in November by the personnel that filmed the "Beast of Boro" film documentary about DRJ in March/April 2011 plus we'll have an article in "Baptists on Missions" in Feburuary........so GOD STILL OPENS DOORS if we obey-follow. Praise God!.

The DRJ Team started out the season by making some changes to JOHN 3:16 and was looking forward to a successful season. March 27 at Carolina Speedway tested our patience during practice and we left the track with a "TOTALED" race car. The car got loose or something broke sending the DRJ driver "head on" into the block wall on the front stretch. The driver was fine other than being sore, but not so lucky for the car. The team questioned whether to continue to pursue racing or just visit the tracks to distribute items. We prayed about it and the Lord blessed us with not one, but two cars. Presently we have a 1993 Ford Thunderbird that we are racing and working on a 1973 Mustand Fastback. We will be removing the engine and transmission from our old car to put in the Mustang. Both cars will be # JOHN 3:16. We may attempt to run both cars at different tracks in the future but will have to wait and see. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as God works. DRJ has added some new tracks on the schedule also. We look forward to visiting 311 Fastrack in Pine Hall, NC and Lancaster Speedway in SC. We will making a couple of visits to County Line Raceway in Elm City also.

DRJ Racing participated in the Dublin Peanut Festival on Saturday, September 19 in Dublin NC along with the Bladen Baptist Association.  We had a great time of fellowship and the kids had a great time with the race car.  There was a hugh attendance and we had several to stop by the DRJ tent.  I noticed a new sports/recreation ministry that is in the start up stages...."BOWHUNTERS FOR CHRIST" - please keep them in your prayers that God will lead them as they start sowing the seeds!

JOHN 3:16 finished 7th at Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 12.  The car was driven by Jonathan Simmons but we didn`t have a good night of racing.  We took on some major damage from being spun out into the path of another car......that's racing!

DRJ Racing celebrated it's first victory at Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, NC on Friday night (9/4). Carrie Parnell (female youth driver) wheeled JOHN 3:16 to DRJ's first victory since organizing this season. She has came a long way and seems to be getting better each week. Thanks to the DRJ Racing Crew for maintaining the car in great form. Dickie Wilkins participated in the Rookie Class at Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC on Saturday night, August 29. Dicki helded on to a 6th place finish and does very well in the Rookie Division. Dicki is the co-director for DRJ. The season is winding down and we think that we've been blessed for the 2009 season. RJ Racing took the weekend of August 15 off to do some maintenance on JOHN 3:16. The crew made some changes to the car and prepped the car for the following weekend. Thanks to crew chief Mike Ward for making all this happen.

DRJ Racing traveled to Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, NC on Friday, August 21. Carrie Parnell wheeled the car to a strong 3rd place finish. Carrie is doing great behind the wheel and will be seeing action at Dublin Motor Speedway in the near future. We will be traveling to Carolina Speedway in Lake View, SC on Saturday, August 29 to race in the Rookie Division. DRJ's co-direction Dicki Wilkins will be driving. DRJ Racing traveled to Lake View SC on Saturday night August 1 to race in the "Rookie" Division. Brad Wilkins tried his hands behind the wheel for the first time. Brad is a member of Butters Baptist Church in Bladenboro and was very excited about the opportunity to drive JOHN 3:16. During the practice session, Brad spun out bringing out the caution, however another car and JOHN 3:16 got together and we received our first major damage for the season. We lost the front end, radiator, right fender, and some broken tubing. Thanks to Mike Ward and Glenn Simmons for the great job they did repairing the car to allow us not to miss a weekend of racing.

DRJ Racing traveled to Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday night, August 8 and watched Jonathan Simmons run strong up front for a few laps. The #15 car got into us and we spun out - went to the rear and came back thru field to finish 8th. We had a rough night of racing due to track conditions plus lost a rim on the cool down lap. Overall, still a good night of racing.

Carrie Parnell wheeled the DRJ car to a 3rd place finish at Hammerdown Speedway on Friday night, July 24. JOHN 3:16 ran in 1st place for 7 laps before a tire was cut down. The crew changed the tire and Carrie returned to the track to grab the 3rd place finish. Each time, the car and driver seems to be getting better and we'll eventually make it to the WINNER'S CIRCLE. DRJ Co-director Dicki Wilkins tried his hands behind the wheel of JOHN 3:16 on Saturday, July 8 at Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC. Dicki wheeled the car very well and came from the rear to 3rd place before losing a couple of spots during a caution. During the last lap, he pushed the car a little too hard and forced himself over the hill....luckily no car damage. We had a great time at Lake View Speedway.

DRJ traveled to Hammerdown on Friday night, July 17. Youth Driver Carrie Parnell was selected as the driver (female) and she looked very good in practice. JOHN 3:16 proved to be one of the strongest cars in the Young Gun Division during practice, however, the race was rained out.

DRJ will be traveling back to Hammerdown Speedway on Friday, July 24 to finish the race from the previous week. We are scheduled to travel to County Line on Saturday, July 25 but at this time, we'll make a decision later this week.

JOHN 3:16 ran a very strong race on Saturday, July 4 at Dublin Motor Speedway. Jonathan Simmons was running 2nd for the majority of the race but was edged out by the #76 car of John Dyson in the last few laps to hold on to a 3rd place finish. The car is coming around great and the drivers are getting some great experience behind the wheel. We will be running at Carolina Speedway in Lake View, SC on July 11.....this week, the co-director of DRJ (Dicki Wilkins) will get his chance behind the wheel in the Rookie Division. We are looking forward to this. John 3:16 will be returning to Dublin Motor Speedway on 7/18. Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless!

The DRJ Team traveled up to the County Line Raceway on Saturday night, June 27 in Elm City. We did not take the car, but we set up inside the main gate and all I can say is WOW! The track was packed with fans and the car count was probably close to 80 cars. The racing was AWESOME and some great competition. We would like to thank the County Line Staff for their hospitality and we are looking forward to returning to the Line in July.

I would also like to commend the fans that came out.......FAMILIES attended! In today's society, you don't see this very often where the entire family comes to a event. My hat goes off to the County Line Raceway Staff, the fans, and the drivers. I'm sure everyone got their $15.00 worth of action last night, if you didn't - you were sleeping!

The DRJ Racing Team will return to action on Friday, July 3 at Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs......looking forward to seeing everyone at the THE MIGHT BULL RING!

Saturday, June 20. JOHN 3:16 was running very strong and took 2nd place before a flat tire forced us to pit. After the pit stop, we started at the rear and came back to take a 3rd place finish. This was Jonathan's 3rd time driving the DRJ car and he is improving each time he gets behind the wheel.

DRJ will be traveling to County Line Raceway in Elm City on Saturday, 6/27 for their big $2,000 event. We are looking forward to seeing all of the drivers/fans at the line. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

DRJ Racing finished a strong 3rd at Hammerdown Speeday on Friday, June 12. Carrie Parnell (DRJ's 1st female youth driver) made her debut and did a tremendous job for the first time behind the wheel. She battled with the #11 car of Randy Mcguire and they put on a great race and finish. JOHN 3:16 received minimal damage and will return to action on June 20 at Dublin Motor Speedway.

The DRJ Team visited Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday, June 13. We set up the tent and distributed some bibles, pocket crosses, prayer stones, and gifts for the kids. We had a great night of racing and we thank the good Lord above for taking care of Willie "WildChild" Millican during his accident.

DRJ Racing placed another 1st TIME DRIVER behind the wheel of JOHN 3:16 on Saturday night at Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC. Blake Brown, a senior at West Bladen High School raced in the "ROOKIE" division and placed 3rd. Blake assisted in rolling the track in to get the feel of the car, however, missed the first practice session due to a mechanical problem. He made the 2nd practice but didn't qualify - we elected to start at the rear. Blake displayed alot of patience behind the wheel by not overdriving and waiting on the breaks. DRJ Racing will not be racing this coming weekend due to some maintenance improvements that have to be made. The DRJ team will travel to Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC to set up the tent. Jonathan Simmons finished 6th in his 2nd start of the year at Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 23. We have made several improvements with the car as far as adjustments/set up and JOHN 3:16 handled very good. The Young Gun class has several good drivers with about 2 years experience and the competition is tough. Overall, Jonathan is improving and we look forward to continuing to work with him in the future races. The most important thing is that we were able to leave the track with minimum damage and work for the upcoming week. We will be visiting Grace Baptist Church on Saturday, 5/30 from noon - 4 pm for a church block party and departing for Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC at 4 pm to race in the "ROOKIE" class. DRJ pulled double duty this past weekend visiting Hammerdown Speedway in Red Springs, NC on Friday night and visited Dublin Motor Speedway on Saturday night. JOHN 3:16 finished 4th at Hammerdown in the YG Division driven by Jonathan Rigsbee (1st time driver). We really enjoyed the improvements that have been made at Hammerdown by owner Michael Weeks. The track has a great family environment and the DRJ team really enjoyed our visit. The team was accompanied by 18 of the DRJ youth group who came out and supported the DRJ Racing Team.

Co-Director Dicki Wilkins took a team to Dublin Motor Speedway in Dublin NC on Saturday night for a visit. We did not take the race car to Dublin due to some needed adjustments that has to be made prior to racing at Dublin. We should have all the adjustments made this week and will be ready for racing on the 23rd May. DRJ would like to thank crew chief Mike Ward and Davis Automotive for their hard work keeping the car race ready!

JOHN 3:16 finished 7th on Saturday, May 2 at Dublin Motor Speedway in the "Young Guns" Division. Jonathan Simmons was selected as the DRJ driver for the night and did a great job holding on to the
7th position. It was Jonathan's first time driving a race car and we came home with no damage. Plans are to continue to rotate drivers weekly and give each youth a opportunity to drive the car. This is easy for them, but tough on the JOHN 3:16 crew.....but God always comes thru for us. Origninally, DRJ was scheduled to travel to County Line Raceway but the weather forecast halted the trip so we elected to visit Dublin (15 minutes from home). We will be rescheduling County Line in the near future. God Bless!

JOHN 3:16 made its racing debut at Carolina Speedway in Lake View SC on Saturday night (4/25) and finished 5th in the Rookie Class. We basically wanted to shake the car down after several repairs and adjustments were made after our last practice session to see what we had. Overall, we were very pleased how the car handled and now we feel ready to turn the DRJ Youth loose with the car. We came away with a few dents and tire marks, but overall not much damage. It was great to watch JOHN 3:16 make those laps after many hours of hard work from everyone. Hope to see you at a track soon! God Bless!

Congratulations to Richard and Jennifer Wilkins of Butters Baptist Chuch in Bladenboro for assuming the role of DRJ YOUTH LEADERS for the DRJ YOUTH GROUP. Due to the continuing growth and excitement of the program plus my new role as interim pastor for Friendship Baptist Church in Bladen County, it was necessary for DRJ to seek additional leadership to lead the DRJ program. We prayed about the decision and are happy that Richard and Jennifer felt led to assume this position. Please continue to lift them up in your prayers that God will guide them as they lead the youth and adults.

I will continue with the DRJ ministry at the tracks and will assist Richard and Jennifer with the DRJ YOUTH GROUP as time allows. Please continue to remember DRJ in your daily prayers.

DRJ is looking forward to the 2009 racing season and WE ARE GETTING EXCITED! We are still in the process of working on our schedule, so please continue to check our schedule dates. We will be putting JOHN 3:16 on the track for the first time for some practice time and to get our young drivers some seat time during the month of March. Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the 2009 season.

DRJ will also have available the "RACERS PRAYER" decal for all drivers plus the DRJ
oval logo decals for the 2009 season. They are free, so please stop a DRJ volunteer to get the decals. Display them proudly!

DRJ conducted the first youth group meeting on Monday, February 2 to kick off the 2009 racing
season at Richardson Baptist Church in Bladenboro. 15 youth (age 9 - 17) attendend the meeting
plus 14 adults participated. The youth participated in the introduction of DRJ, reviewed the
requirements for the youth group, and discussed the DRJ Racing Team. The youth group will
meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 pm at various churches in the area. We will select
drivers from the youth group to race JOHN 3:16 during the season. If interested in participating,
contact a member of the DRJ Team (visit our contact page for phone numbers).

DRJ is pleased to announce a DRJ MEMBERSHIP program for the 2009 race season to help support the DRJ ministry. Memberships will be annually and will be in effect for the 2009 racing season (March 2009 - March 2010).
Monthly newsletters will be sent to all members updating them on the "DRJ TRACK VISITS" plus members will receive DRJ merchandise. We are offering various selections of membership packagaes that are available. Please review membership packages and help support DRJ during the 2009 race season.
